The Barristers Chambers of Susan Brown provides chancery and commercial legal expertise and representation in all civil courts of England and Wales. Located in Southampton on the south coast of England, the chambers has close connections to the south coast, having sensed that it is no longer necessary for their chancery and commercial chambers to be physically based in London.
As the legal industry becomes increasingly competitive, legal chambers are seeking ways to differentiate themselves from their competitors. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is by developing a strong brand identity that accurately reflects the chambers' values, mission, and personality. This is precisely what Peek achieved when we helped Tennyson Chambers, a leading barristers set, develop a new brand identity that set it apart from its competitors.
At Peek we are a full-service digital agency specialising in the branding of law firms and barristers sets. Our experienced designers, strategists, and marketers work closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and develop customised solutions that deliver results. When Tennyson Chambers approached Peek to help design a new brand identity, we were excited to take on the challenge.
The Process
The first step in the process was to conduct a thorough brand audit, which involved assessing Tennyson Chambers’ brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity. Peek used the insights gained from the audit to develop a comprehensive brand strategy that would guide the creation of a new brand identity for Tennyson Chambers.
The new brand identity was built around the concept of ‘clarity,’ which reflected the set’s commitment to providing clear and concise legal advice to its clients. The new visual identity was designed to be modern, clean, and professional, using a simple colour palette and striking typography to create that sense of clarity and sophistication. The logo was designed to be simple yet elegant, featuring a stylised “signature” symbolising the set’s commitment to a personal service and attention to detail. The signature also reflected the location of Tennyson Chambers in visual form by representing the waves on the sea. The new symbol further enhances this visual link by abstractly reflecting the sails on sailboats around the Needles of the Isle of Wight.
In addition to the visual identity, Peek also developed a new messaging strategy for Tennyson Chambers, which focused on communicating the set’s unique value proposition to potential clients. The messaging was designed to be concise, clear, and compelling, highlighting their expertise, experience, and commitment to client satisfaction.
